About us

Our story

The Hertfordshire Garden Centre was previously Godlys Roses, a small rose grower in Redbourn. In 2009, Graham Armstrong took over the site and developed it into the shop you see today. Since then, the centre has grown in size considerably and now offers a huge range of plants, pots, and landscaping products. Now incorporating a friendly café and affordable gift area, we are an independent, family run business with that personal touch.

In homage to the previous usage of the centre, our on-site café is named The Rose Garden Café. Offering quality, freshly cooked food all day, we change our menu often and many of our cakes are baked in house by our pastry chef, Sophie. What’s more, Afternoon Tea, seated in your own private hut, is available Friday-Sunday.

We source many of our plants from the UK and ensure plant passports are available for all imports. We also have a large selection of outdoor living items, from BBQs & firepits to lighting & lawn care.

Indoors, we always have new and interesting houseplants available with pots to compliment even the smallest succulent. Local gifts like Potters Crouch candles, local honey from Berkhamstead Bees and glassware will top off your shopping experience.

Here at the Hertfordshire Garden Centre we have recently increased our offering of outdoor buildings, stocking sheds, greenhouses, and flat pack garden rooms from PodKit. Our knowledgeable staff are on hand to help give useful and practical advice.

We can supply turf from George Davies to order and have a huge range of bulk bags of soil, mulch, and aggregates.

Home and site delivery is available using our own vehicles and drivers.
