Bulbs & Seeds

The Hertfordshire Garden Centre has a seasonal stock of bulbs and seeds available throughout the year. Whether it’s daffodil bulbs in the autumn or tomatoes in the spring, we stock high quality items from trusted suppliers.

In late Summer, we offer our extensive supply of seed potatoes alongside everything you need to produce your very own bumper crop. Potato growing sacks provide a convenient space in which to plant your chitted tubers and specific potato fertiliser is available for best results.

We are fortunate that our bulbs come from UK suppliers such as Taylors and Gedney’s. High quality Spring and Summer bulbs arrive in-store at times through the year when planting is most appropriate. In Autumn, we receive daffodils, tulips and snowdrops to name just a few. Dahlias and lilies come in during the early Spring – a perfect time to get the garden ready for some summer colour.

Seeds are often a more budget friendly way to develop your garden. It is also a great way to get children interested in gardening. Peas, beans and sunflowers are all really easy and quick to grow so guaranteed to hold the attention of young growers! We often have ‘grow-your-own’ seed kits with children in mind. Clear and simple instructions make them easy to understand.

Our helpful post on seed planting gives useful tips on growing plants from scratch. We stock seeds from Thompson & Morgan, Unwins and Franchi  who are all well established in their field and we regularly refresh our stock to ensure we do not have old, out of date seeds.
